- Do not confuse opposite with reciprocal or inverse
- Four of the six trigonometric functions reflect onto themselves over the y axis,which means that a horizontal reflection appears no different than the original function's graph. These four trigonometric functions are sine, cosecant, tangent, and cotangent.
- The remaining two trigonometric functions, cosine and secant, do not reflect onto themselves. These two trigonometric functions' reflections are connected. The vertical reflection of cosine and secant are the same as their horizontal reflections
